You have French nationality

Until 2015, it was possible for French nationals to enter the Kingdom of Morocco with their identity card. This is now impossible. A passport valid until the end of the stay is required.

Stay in Morocco of 3 months or less

If you are staying 3 months or less, there is no need for a visa. All you need is your passport. It will be stamped by the immigration services to indicate the number and date of entry.

Stay in Morocco of more than 3 months

To stay longer than 3 months, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs advises tourists to apply for a visa from the Moroccan authorities.

You have dual nationality

People with both French and Moroccan nationality can use their passport:

  • Moroccan to enter Morocco
  • French to enter France.

Stay in Morocco of 3 months or less

For a stay of less than 3 months, you must present a valid Moroccan passport.

Stay in Morocco of more than 3 months

There is no time limit for Moroccan citizens to reside in their country, even if they have dual nationality. No formalities are required. Only the passport is required to pass through customs.

Travelling with a minor

Minors travelling with their father and mother must have a valid passport or appear on their parents' passport. It is advisable to carry the family record book or a birth certificate to prove parentage.

Traveling with a minor without his/her 2 parents requires taking a few precautions to make sure you have all the papers for Morocco. These measures apply to all accompanying persons, regardless of their nationality or that of the child.

The child is traveling with only one parent

In addition to the passport and proof of parentage, you need to provide:

  • the divorce decree if the parents are separated
  • the father's authorization if it is the mother who is accompanying the minor

The child is traveling without his parents

Before departure, the representatives of parental authority fill out an authorization to leave the territory. The form must be accompanied by a copy of the identity document of the parent who signed it.

This is an indispensable piece of paper for Morocco. Without this administrative document, it is not possible for a minor to leave France without his or her parents.

Accompanying adults must also present on arrival a letter of authorization with the legalized signatures of both parents.

Traveling to France from Morocco

Moroccans and non-EU nationals must present a visa in addition to their passport upon arrival in France.

Two types of visa are issued:

  • short-stay visa (type C visa) for stays under 3 months;
  • long-stay visa (type D visa) for stays over 3 months.

This pass authorizes entry and stay in France and Schengen area countries.

If you're coming to France to study, seek medical treatment or work, other administrative documents are required. For a private or family visit lasting less than 3 months, a proof of accomodation (attestation d'accueil) may be required.

You can consult the official France Visa website to find out which visa you need and make an appointment to submit your application.
