La Méridionale makes its ferries to Corsica and Morocco more accessible for people with reduced mobility (PRM). You'll find all the information you need to know below about how people with disabilities travel on our Ajaccio, Porto-Vecchio and Tangier Med lines.

In accordance with the definition published in the French Journal Officiel on 06/04/12 (Division 190), is considered a person with reduced mobility "any person with particular difficulty using public transport"; for example:

  • senior citizens
  • women over 5 months pregnant
  • people in wheelchairs
  • people with impaired vision
  • people with impaired hearing
  • people who are medicalized
  • people of short stature
  • people with cognitive/psychic impairments

So that the crew can accommodate you and meet your specific needs, please inform us of your situation when booking. When booking online, a menu allows you to declare your impairment and automatically inform our sales team.

Cabins equipped for people with disabilities

Suitable cabins are available for people with disabilities on your crossing to Morocco and Corsica.

If you wish to travel in one of these cabins, you must make a request to our sales department at least 48 hours before departure or at the time of booking. Our team is available at +33 (0)970 83 20 20 to register your request.

Each ship, like the Piana, has a limited number of these cabins.

Boarding formalities are simplified for PRM passengers.

La Méridionale invites passengers with reduced mobility to identify themselves upon arrival at the ticket checkpoint by switching on their hazard lights. We reserve dedicated parking spaces for PRM vehicles and their companions near the elevators, close to the reception area of the ship.
While pets are not allowed in passenger areas, assistance dogs are welcome free of charge throught the ship, including in dining areas.

To ensure the best possible experience on board, La Méridionale encourages passengers who require special assistance to inform our staff at the time of boarding.

  • Very warm welcome

    Very well organized boarding and disembarkation, with attentive staff on board. The ship is very clean, featuring two dining areas and a decent bar, all staffed by very friendly personnel. The boat’s size means there are no crowds or long lines, making vehicle boarding and disembarkation quick and easy. The atmosphere is very family-friendly and intimate, much appreciated for being away from tourist crowds and large cruise ships!
